What Is Ultrasonic Welding?
Ultrasonic welding uses high-frequency mechanical vibration (20–40 kHz) to generate localised heat at the joint interface between two thermoplastic parts. The plastic melts and fuses under controlled pressure, then solidifies into a permanent, hermetic bond. The whole weld cycle typically takes less than one second — making it ideal for high-volume assembly.
No Adhesives or Fasteners
The bond is formed by the plastic itself — eliminating adhesive cost, cure time, and the risk of chemical incompatibility with the substrate.
Hermetic Seal Capable
Properly designed weld joints can achieve air- and liquid-tight seals — required for enclosures exposed to moisture, dust (IP-rated housings), or fluid containment.
Fast Cycle Times
Weld cycles under one second support high-volume production schedules — the process integrates directly into the moulding line without slowing throughput.

Weldable Thermoplastics
